Here are some photos of the general area of Montmartre-including the famous Sacre Coeur de Montmartre Cathedral.
Here's a peek just behind one of the Art Deco fountains from the turn of the 19th Century!
This beautiful church in the Byzantine style is visible from anywhere in Paris.
Like everywhere else in Paris, street performers wait for someone to drop a few coins in the box. Stephen was rewarded with a large smile when he gave a euro to this one.
Steps away is the ever-crowded Place du Tertre where everyone is a wanna-be painter!
Another cool view of the church- look! It's a gargoyle!! Cool!
I bet I can see all of Paris from up here!!!
OK- you have to go to the Red Light District to see the Moulin Rouge. NO, I will not give you the address- you have to figure that out for yourselves. Here are a few photos to help you find your way.
A beautiful subway station on the way- Did you know that the Paris Metro is over 100 years old? That's like four times my age!! Ahem...
One of the colorful bars in this district.
This looks like a pay toilet, but actually they are all free in this area, so the homeless use them as homes- NO KIDDING!! You have to go elsewhere, because there's a homeless person in every one of these, and they will not open the door- note the red OCCUPIED sign. Too bad for us- better not drink so much coffee...
We stuck to the center of the road since Stephen was with me- I can't see him being dragged into one of those 'businesses' yet at his age... Anyway, it's nice here- there are trees and lots to view on both sides of the road!!!
Isn't it beautiful? Le Moulin Rouge where Toulouse Loutrec painted the lovely show girls. I can't actually include the billboards in this picture that advertise the show, or I'd have to up the rating on my site to 'R' (or worse).
Here's Le Chat Noir... from the posters!!!
As we leave Pigalle, we see a lovely alleyway leading up the mountain of Montmartre... Au Revoir!!!
